Online Marketing Via Social Media Optimization

Many companies have been relying on Search Engine Optimization (SEO) as an effective online marketing technique. Corporations write unique content that will help boost their reputation on the Internet through websites like Google or Yahoo!. Now, with more people using social media sites like Facebook and Twitter, companies are beginning to expand their marketing campaigns into these websites through Social Media Optimization (SMO).

SMO is defined as a branch of SEO, focusing on sharing information about one’s products, services, or organization in general through social media. When consumers follow a company’s official Twitter account or when they comment and like a company’s posts on Facebook, the business organization will be able to establish a good reputation through SMO. Unique content is also focused in this type of optimization, focusing on blog posts that can relate to potential clients and can be linked and shared for easy access. SMO is a very important component of SEO since content sharing builds up credibility for search engines to notice and rank websites higher, making them appear on top of search engine results pages (SERPs). Companies that utilize both SEO and SMO for their marketing campaigns are sure to have distinct advantages in online marketing.

The Internet has become a primary source of information in this digital age. People use websites as references and social media for sharing. By using these two major elements of the World Wide Web, companies will have more opportunities to market their products and build up their credibility.
